What is Cash-On-Cash Return

One of my students asked me… hey Terry explain Cash on Cash Return for us – what does it mean?

the cash-on-cash return is the ratio of the “annual before-tax” cashflow compared to the total amount of cash invested, known as a percentage.

Know I want to really simplify this and after that I have something really exciting to share with you, OK first here’s the Cash on Cash Return Formula broken down step-by-step:

Simple numbers:

If you had a $10,000 cash flow this year in which you invested $100,000 of your own cash you would have a 10% cash-on-cash return
